An Introduction to Beekeeping

The course will provide a basic understanding in the practice and theory of beekeeping, and will certainly give you a buzz! It is designed for anyone who has an interest in bees and will certainly be invaluable to those starting out in the craft. 5 day sessions and some evening sessions will cover various aspects of beekeeping including the importance of beekeeping, the natural history of the honeybee, handling of bees and the equipment required, swarm prevention and control, pests and disease and products of the hive. The course will also include at least 2 practical sessions in the apiary.
