Hotel Hymenoptera

17-03-2011

17/03/2011 - 17/03/2011

From the Greek ‘hymen’- a membrane and ‘pteron’ – a wing; all bees, wasps and ants belong to the family ‘Hymenoptera’. This course will serve as an introduction to the diversity of Britain’s bees and wasps with an emphasis on the solitary species. You will cover a variety of different species - how to recognise them and their differing requirements. The course will include a practical exercise of making your own Hotel Hymenoptera to take home.
