Maiden Newton Art Club
Annual Arts and Crafts Exhibition, 21st - 22nd October
The Exhibition takes place in the Village Hall on Friday 21st October from 6 - 9 pm and also on the Saturday 22nd from 10am to 4pm.
On the Saturday there are light refreshments available to purchase:- Tea/coffee and cakes all day and soup & rolls over the lunch period.
Information
The Group meets weekly on Wednesday afternoons in the Village Hall usually 2 p.m. - 4.30 p.m. Workshops are held roughly once a month, these are 10.30 a.m. - 4 p.m. During normal afternoons, members bring along their own work to do; at Workshops a guest artist will teach the Group.
We try to cater for all standards, from complete beginners to those more experienced, and people use a variety of media, oils, watercolours, acrylics. The idea is to have a relaxed, informal and sociable group of people meeting to enjoy their art and there is no pressure to achieve certain standards.
At the end of the Summer term we usually have an outing such as a Pub Lunch, sometimes with an opportunity for drawing/painting outdoors. At the end of the Autumn Term we have a Christmas lunch together somewhere.
This term started on 7th September and ends on 7th December.
There are 3 Workshop Days:
- 28th September with Michael Chappell (Acrylics and Landscapes)
- 26th October Jane and Max Huxtable Brown (Watercolours and Picture Framing)
- 23rd November Paul Stilwell, Model for Life Drawing

Membership
Membership costs £25 per term. This includes the Workshops but if anyone not belonging to the Group wants to attend a Workshop the charge is £15, provided there is space available as priority is given to Members.
Membership is currently full, we restrict the numbers to make the Group manageable, but anyone wishing to join can give their details to be kept on a waiting list until there is a vacancy.
